Aalborg, located in North Jutland, is a Danish industrial and university city. Aalborg is the fourth largest city in Denmark, with a population of 104,885. Aalborg was inhabited as early as 700 AD. Aalborg is located near Limfjord, so the harbor became very popular and important during the Middle Ages. It then became an industrial center. Now, Aalborg is changing from a working-class industrial city to a technology-based city.
Excursionists from around the world are drawn to the Aalborghus Castle. It was made during the 17th century and is in the center of the town. Also, there’s King Christian III’s castle Bindingsværk, built in the 1550s. Merchant Jens Bang’s house, which is a five story building, was built in 1624. The merchant’s house is a perfect example of Renaissance architecture.
