Duisburg is located in the western part of Rurh Area in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Duisburg has the world’s biggest inland harbor, and is an independent borough in the Regierungsberzirk Dusseldorf.
Tourists who are in Duisburg should definitely visit the Duisburg Zoo. Duisburg Zoo, built on May 12, 1934, is the largest zoological garden in all of Germany. This zoo is famous for its dolphinarium, which is one of the largest in Germany. Another place tourists should visit is the Stifftung Wilhelm Lehmbruck Museum- Center for International Sculpture. This museum has sculptures from famous 20th century sculptors like Wilhelm Lehmbruck, Ernst Barlach, Ludwig Jasper, Antoine Pevsner, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali just to name a few. There are also paintings from the 19th and 20th century German painters.
