Korbach is the district seat of Waldeck-Frankenberg located in northern Hesse, Germany. Korbach is more than thousand years old and an earlier Hanseatic town. The town is situated on the German Timber-Frame Road and lies at the northeast bound of the Rhenish State Mountains. The Korbacher Spalte is a 20 m deep and around 1 km elongated cleft located in the earth's surface close to Korbach has yielded significant fossil finds. Worth visiting is the Korbach Village Church which endures in the middle of the town. Similarly worth seeing is the old castle in the 'Huhnenkeller' ringwall close to Lengefeld.
