Once famous for being the partying capital in northern Europe, Agios Nicolaos has now a more demure reputation, but still quite famous for being a hot-spot in the field of tourism. The town is situated east of Heraklion in the island of Crete. Agios Nicolaos is actually located partially above the ruins of an ancient city called Lato pros Kamara. Its tourism draws are the small beaches that are scattered in the town. There’s also Lake Voulismeni, a small lagoon ideal for strolls and picnics. There are only a few clubs left in the area, but the nightlife is still very much active.Take a trip to this part of Crete with the help of car rental provided by VIP Cars.
