Kecskemet is a city located in the central part of Hungary. Kecskemet is the 8th major city in the country.
Kecskemet is renowned for its museums, secessionist architecture, and for being the cradle of musician Zoltan Kodaly. The Kecskemet National Park was founded in 1975 to save the various different regional species of animals and plants. Cifra Palota is located on the East side of Szabadsag square and one of the best examples of Hungarian secessionist architecture.
Tavaszi Festival takes place every March generally overlapping with Budapest's annual Spring Festival. Kecskemeti Repulonapok is a major air and military airshow also exhibiting tanks and various types of armored vehicle and artillery pieces.
