Ave Las Americas is the main road running east to west through La Chorrera and it makes a great location to find a hotel and to pick up a car rental in order to explore the surrounding area. La Chorrera lies on the Pan-American Highway and so offers easy access to other towns by road.Within the city, there is an international flavour with many different types of cuisine on offer, but there is also plenty of local fare as well in the form of bollo and chicheme.The city gets its name from the waterfalls that surround the city. There are three major waterfalls, El Chorro de La Chorrera, El Chorro Trinidad and El Chorro de Canoa Quebrada amongst others. These also make for ideal nature watching spots due to the lush surroundings and you may be lucky enough to see otters as well as a great variety of birds and fish.
