Sintra is a town and municipality in the Greater Lisboa subregion of Portugal. Containing many historical and medieval buildings which are set amid beautiful natural surroundings, this town has been classified as a 'World Heritage Site', attracting many travelers from home and abroad. One of its landmark buildings has also been voted among the 'Seven Wonders of Portugal' in an online poll conducted in 2006 increasing this towns appeal.

Pena National Palace is a Romanticist palace built here on top of a hill, and is one of the most striking buildings in the country. The Sintra National Palace or the Town Palace is another landmark building and is one of the best preserved medieval palaces in the country. Other important landmarks here include the Castle of the Moors, the Quinta da Regaleira, the Monserrate Palace, the Seteais Palace and the Ramalhão Palace.
