The area of London known as Marble Arch is named after the stunning white marble archway that sits on the roundabout at the junction of Oxford Street, Park Lane, and Edgware Road. It was moved here from outside Buckingham Palace in 1851. It is a major tourist attraction in London. Speaker’s Corner in Hyde Park is opposite the monument. The Tyburn Gallows, also sometimes called Tyburn Tree, is near to the Marble Arch. This was a place of public execution between 1388 and 1793. There is a London Underground Station in the vicinity, and it is easy to access all the major London sights from Marble Arch.
