Calumet is a village located in Houghton County of the US state of Michigan. This town was once the center of the historic copper mining region and was called the Copper Island as a result. This village is included in the Calumet Historic District which has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. This town is served by the Houghton Airport which provides regular connections to Chicago O’Hare Airport.

Calumet has a number of attractions for travelers to visit. The Calumet Theater was built in 1900 and attracted many entertainment stars in its heyday. St Paul the Apostle Church is the main religious structure here and attracts a number of visitors. St Anne’s Roman Catholic Church and the Calumet Opera House are two other prominent landmarks located in the historic district. The Upper Peninsula’s Firefighting Museum can also be visited by travelers.
