Grand Island Airport’s official name is Central Nebraska Regional Airport. It lies a few kilometers northeast of Grand Island, in Hall County, Nebraska, USA. The airport code is GRI. The airport was previously known as the Grand Island Army Airfield, being used for military activity. Today, some of the old army buildings remain, including warehouses, sheds, hangars, and the old parachute building. It is a Chinook helicopter base. Allegiant Air connects passengers to Las Vegas and Phoenix / Mesa and American Eagle operates flights to and from Dallas / Fort Worth. There are decent passenger facilities.
